L’Histoire Inconnue Du Disque is a french independant record label founded by Julien Galner. Its name refers to a little-known musical library, and the label aims to build a catalog of modern gems. The only requirement to sign with this label is to go full analog and to offer only instrumental tracks, without vocals. There are no genre restrictions.
I had the opportunity to design the complete visual identity of this label: logo, visual territory, social media, printed materials and even the design of each album cover released under H.I.D.D. I worked closely with the artists. What a wonderful way to express our respective visions through my creations, when you’re as passionate about music as I am!
It’s my favorite project to date.

Moodboard & References
HIDD aesthetics is all about vintage syntheziser and outer space. The label’s name refers to an unknown side of the history of music lost in times. Like an archive lost in the univers, that nobody’s knows about.

The Parallax Test Single - Creative Process
Dagerlöff & Galner
The Parallax Test is an electronica experimental track, evolutive music, a geek stuff based on algorithm, like "let the music plays by itself". The visual process is quite the same. Set up a basic low-poly landscape visual, pass it into a glitch plugin in After Effect, export a series of frames, and choose one.

The Parallax Test EP - Creative Process
Dagerlöff & Galner
Still in this procedural / experimental world. This artwork is at first a personal research of mine, but we twisted it. Turning it in some kind of futuristic antenna,
a weird and intriguing street furniture. Something that could possibly emit the sound you hear in this EP.
Loup Vert LP -

Julien Grassen Barbe Trio
When listening to 'Loup Vert' and discussing with Julien Grassen Barbe, we talked about his native landscape region, the Pyrenees, as well as the influence of Middle East sounds in the track 'Bashevis' due to his Jewish confession. He also told me that he loves the patterns created by rain on a window, its poetry, and the path between abstract and figurative forms that textures on a worn wall can create. A path that relates perfectly to a possible pun on the album’s name which can be heard in French as "open". Thus, creating an abstract landscape resuming all of this notions was pretty obvious to us.
La Prise Électronique LP -

Fabien Guiraud
Fabien told me that he had composed his album from a sine wave, a mathematical equation, which he entered into his machines to create a signal, a pattern. Then, he showed me a photo of lots of messy colored cables, as well as some works by Sol Le Witt. I drew inspiration from all that. I wanted to show the relationship of the sinusoidal in the visual. We tinted it with retro colors to stick to the sweet nostalgia of his music. And that was it!
HÄXAN -
Creative Process
Dagerlöff & Galner
The duo was approached by Potemkin Films to compose a score for the cult movie 'Häxan' from 1922.
Häxan is a really special swedish movie about sorcery during both ancient / mediaval age and modern times (which is 1920's by the time they realised this movie).
Taken from the film, the artwork sums up the principle of satanic ritual and creates a duality between the baby personifying life on the left and the hourglass symbolizing time on the right. Death is in the center, while a book placed outside the circle evokes emancipation through knowledge.
